The first buyers of Apple Watch They are upset by the fact that some features of smartwatch do not work in tattooed skin. To raise awareness, users created the hashtag ‘tattoogate’, which quickly went viral on the internet.

A user of the social network Reddit said the release mechanism of the clock, automatically activated when senses that is being used does not work on tattooed skin: “Once put [the clock] in the area that is tattooed in black ink, the watch automatically blocked,” writes

In the Apple support page can be read that “permanent or temporary changes in the skin as some tattoos, can impact performance of the heartbeat sensor. “

The Apple Watch went on sale in nine countries on 24 April. Portugal was not part of this list.
