The technology on the goal line will be first used in Germany in the Cup final between VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund, 30 May in Berlin, today unveiled the German Football Federation (DFB).

“It will be a historic game for it,” said Helmut Sandrock, secretary general of the DFB, confirming claims several leaders of German clubs in the sense that technology be premiered in the cup final.

The final of the 2014 German Cup between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, which ended with the victory of the first 2-0 provoked much controversy, since a headed ball Mats Hummels was deflected by Dante, apparently after having crossed the goal line.

The referee understood not, but the dispute settled , which is why Sandrock considers that it “could not repeat on behalf of the sports true.”

The goal line technology should be used also in the German Super Cup, scheduled for early August, before being implemented in the German League next season.

The use of technology in the line of goal was adopted by the clubs ‘Bundesliga’ in early December, receiving the agreement of more than two thirds of the 18 clubs Elite (15 versus three), and the choice fell on the system ‘Hawk Eye’ used for several years on the world tennis circuit, but also in the Premiership.
