The Director General of Microsoft Portugal Joao Couto said Monday that exist in Portugal 5000 jobs by filling in the area of ​​Information Technology, a sector “where there is no unemployment,” he stressed the head.


                     


                         Microsoft signed Monday an agreement with the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP), which continues the 30 IT Academies available in job centers, allowing unemployed free to use the software the company US during the training period.

Microsoft estimates that about 250,000 unemployed will benefit annually from software free in the next three years, during their training period.

The academies, launched about a year, allow unemployed “improve their skills and be better prepared to return to the labor market,” said John Couto at the ceremony where diplomas were handed to the first eight graduates of IEFP to obtain Microsoft certification.

As president of Microsoft International Jean-Philippe Courtois, the aim is to ensure more 10,000 unemployed by 2016.

John Couto pointed out that there are “about 5,000 unfilled vacancies” in the Information Technology sector in Portugal and that will arise in the coming years more than 900 000 job vacancies across Europe.

The Secretary of State for Employment Otavio Oliveira, tambném present at the signing of the protocol, found that this partnership represents an “asset for employability” of those registered at job centers and pointed out that “the needs point to a substantial strengthening of digital literacy”.

It also considered that there are opportunities for retraining of graduates in areas of low employability for digital jobs, particularly in the area of ​​programming.
