Toyota explores applications of technology to the car Ford – R7

(Reuters) – Toyota Motor said it had reached an agreement with Ford Motor to explore a collaboration for the implementation of SmartDeviceLink technology (SDL) of Ford vehicles in their next Toyota and Lexus.

The SDL is an open platform that integrates smartphone apps vehicles by buttons on the panels, screens and voice recognition technology.

The Toyota is engaged in the design and SDL investigating more partnerships with Ford and its subsidiary Livio, software project sponsor SmartDeviceLink said Ford in a statement.

“The automotive applications market is growing rapidly. Developing robust connection services, flexible, safe and friendly is a priority for us, “said Toyota in a statement on Wednesday.
