The admirable German Einstürzende Neubauten technology to … – Blitz (Blog)

A solemn silence follows, from the public, the first notes coming out from the stage when the ATP Einsturzende Neubauten ride that space your “art installation” . After a good night – in Portuguese – Blixa Bargeld of which some fans compare his countrymen, on our side, Don Corleone, begins to carve in front of us, the theme of “The Garden”. Album withdrawal Ende Neu , 1996, the band has evolved from a low-key combo voice, guitar and drum, with small but dramatic touches of synthesizer to an end with decent shouts of Münch, by Herr Bargeld.

When we reached the ATP stage for this concert, even the roadies rode the scenic apparatus itself of historical industrial rock. In several languages, the festival was talk so far – “Kozelek was very good,” says one, “Damien Rice was sounding me to Coldplay,” countered someone else. “For me the holy trilogy ends with Ride”, shoots up at one point. But when the German quintet starts hostilities, silence – that second title of the album themselves, is sexy – it installs itself and is, at least in the first half of the land, a constant spectacle.

The attentive audience will thus vibrating earnest way with the enviable German technology of Einstürzende Neubauten: if the BLITZ June Ralph Hutter, of Kraftwerk, says his band make music funk for robots, almost We could write something similar about the band Berlin. The joints of Neubauten seem, however, oiled and more bizarre than those of Kraftwerk; with more or less conventional instruments (the photos will do a better job than the words to describe the percussion paraphernalia on stage), the quintet always offers a certain order out of chaos. And now in the spoken word that introduces “Dead Friends”, now in the fall – purposeful, of course – metal pieces at the end of a long and intense calm, no one takes her eyes from the stage … not even those who, as we saw on our side, close them to better absorb the sound particles produced by the Teutonic machinery.

“Unvollkständigkeit”, “Halber Mensch” and “Melancholia” were some of the themes that composed a closer alignment of the career retrospective than the presentation of the last Lament , 2014 a concept album about the outbreak of the First World War.

And speaking of technology, for 20 euros fans were able to take home at the end of the concert, one pen with the concert recorded there. As the ad said, deutsche technologie .

There are returns and returns and the Babes in Toyland, more riot grunge secondary figures 90s, it has not exactly been an event. At a time that seek guardianship figures below the first stone, the concert of the American trio in Port festival to produce a relief effect: not found here consecration, apotheosis, but a reproduction of what will have been the more aggressive riot-grrrl faction, more bulging sonically in illo tempore . Made of? Here is believed to have not.
