Prosecutor’s program coordinator wants to bring national application to São Paulo

 The coordinator of PLID (Program Location and Missing Persons Identification) in São Paulo, promoter of Justice Eliana Vendramini, sees in technology an important ally in confronting the problem of the disappearance of persons.

 The PLID has the support of Internet and managed to solve cases with the help of social networks. Now, the prosecutor tries to bring to São Paulo Sinesp the application (National System of Public Security Information) Citizen, the federal government, but still had no response from the state authorities.

 - Is there an application that is valid in three states of the federation for missing. I’m charging for more than a year that Sao Paulo is convenie quickly and adopt the application to the state. In response, they say they are evaluating. But, every day that they evaluate, add more people or stops finding more people. We can not give up that sort of thing.

 Conceived by the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro in 2009, PLID was implemented in the Public Ministry of São Paulo in November 2013. The program has the www.mpsp.mp.br/Desaparecidos channel for citizens to report cases disappearance of persons. The program has, among its duties, the aid in the process of locating and identifying deaths in identifying and locating missing persons and combating trafficking in human beings.

 According to the prosecutor, it is being mounted, via civil investigation, a database with information from all state agencies that deal with possible disappearances (Forensic Institute, Coroner’s Service, Civil Police, Military Police, prosecutors , State Secretary of Health and Identification Institute).

 At the last International Missing Children’s Day, May 25, the Public Ministry has launched two new advertising campaigns on PLID. According to the advisory organ of the press, the new movies will be initially displayed in ten seasons CPTM (São Paulo Metropolitan Train Company). Are also planned placements in TV stations.

 Still according to the press office of MP, posters will be set at 92 stations spread across 22 cities of São Paulo, which will help to educate society about the importance of the issue, and help in locating missing persons.
