PE students represent the country in global competition … – Globo.com

In water crisis times, five students from Pernambuco State Technical School Cicero Dias, in Recife, developed a game that encourages children to economize water through technology. The quintet exceeded 3000 high school students, from 28 countries, and won a feat: will represent Brazil in an international technology competition in San Francisco, California, next June 22. They will compete in Technovation 2015 with five other teams from the United States, Nigeria and India.

The initial challenge was to use technology to help solve a community problem. They developed a mobile game, tablet and computer, which can be downloaded for free, over the Internet. “In our community no water ever;. A day, lack water twice We decided to talk about the water because it is a global issue as well,” said Jaqueline Rodrigues. “Just to have made it to where we arrived, we already feel like a champion. It’s wonderful,” added the student Maria Gabrielle Lopes.

The competition is exclusively female. The idea is to get the young people gain ground and may pursue a career in an area where men are the majority: the technology. To provide an incentive, the competition will give $ 10,000, about £ 30,000 for the winning team. “It is important to have this equality between men and women. It has something man and woman thing. It can be any one,” said Jacqueline Alves.

In baptized playing the Last Drop, one long red hair girl has to close the taps and lights out he encounters. Win more points who spend less time. The game was made for children between 5 and 12 years and will be presented to investors in California. “Because it is a game which is an application, but more complex content, since it has to have an art that is attractive content to the user and has to have the fun component, you think it makes him a strong candidate, “said Tiago Machado, coordinator of the school computer programming.
