US wants to “covenant” with technology companies – Journal News

“We want to strengthen relations in Silicon Valley and ensure that the Government and the private sector have mutual benefits of research they perform,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson in San Francisco, California.

The same official spoke of “an alliance” between the Government and businesses technology around the “cyber security”, recalling that the fight against cyber attacks on the Internet is one of the priorities of the US President.

However, Jen Johnson did not give details of the plans of the White House this presence in Silicon Valley.

The technology companies have maintained a certain distance from the US administration, especially after the revelations of former computer Edward Snowden, who revealed the massive surveillance plans of the intelligence services the Americans and citizens of other countries.

Recently, companies like Apple and Google began to take steps to encode information that their users save especially on devices like mobile phones and “tablets”.
