The Portuguese multinational Active Space Technologies, specialist in aerospace technology, was chosen to integrate a new European space project with a total value of EUR 3.5 million and in which will develop a fold radiator for satellites.
In a statement sent to the Good News, the national company reveals that at issue “an ambitious project” and that the Active Space Technologies will be responsible for the “manufacture of all mechanical components, namely the radiator parts and the opening mechanism.”
According to the company, the project aims to solve a problem associated with the need, in the absence of an atmosphere, after being launched, the satellites have to reject the heat by radiation heating under penalty of the whole system and consequent deterioration.
Today, the solution explains the Active Space Technologies, is to implement, satellites, radiators, whose role is precisely the issue of this heat into space.
