The Renault Espace has pioneered in Europe the concept of MPV followed later by most car manufacturers. Now, back to innovate and to want to redefine the segment parameters to evolve into another type of philosophy, the “crossover”, according to those of the French brand.

A lot of evolution accompanied technology, in which all passes through the system designated “Multi-Sense”, whereby the control electronics from the engine and the gearbox chassis and suspension is done by passing the comfort and functionality of information and various driving aids.

But the differences are also in external appearance because the new generation Espace lost some of minivan air that characterized previous models to take on the new status of “crossover” with a front greater magnificence and the back of more consistent profile with the new identity. Once inside there was a concern to further improve the versatility and comfort, having been conferred some details that enhance the well-being on board.

Available in the five seven variants places, the new Espace also innovates in the form of reflection of the banks, with the modularity “One-Touche”. Thanks to this, the folding of the rear seats can be done individually or together from the boot at the touch of the respective buttons or then on the touch screen “tablet” R-Link 2.

Another of the highlights in this fifth generation is exclusively resulting from the top of the range version called Initiale Paris signature on the back replaces the word Espace under the diamond. It differs fundamentally in the exterior design – Metallic black amethyst and specific rims 19 “- and in particular comfort and care of the interior, patent, for example, the front seats adjustable in ten copies (of which eight electric) or the Bose audio system.

In engines, the novelty is the premiere biturbo diesel 1.6 dCi of 160cv and consumption announced the order of 4,6l / 100 km. The alternative is already known turbodiesel 1.6 dCi 130cv. The gasoline engine also 1.6-liter and 200hp, is available only by request.

For Sale in Portugal from the second half of May, the Espace surprised by the comfort and confidence that transmits the driver even more winding paths, largely thanks to “4Control”, the four-wheel steering system that lends a hand in improving the behavior, especially if exaggerate a bit more in the corners. Also the new diesel biturbo gave very good directions, in all systems.
