Defense officials assess progress of science projects … – Brazil Portal

Official-generals of the Defense Ministry and the technological area of ​​the Navy, Army and Air Force evaluated the evolution of science and technology projects in the Armed Forces, as well as met new proposals for projects in the sector.

Analyses were made at the 14th Meeting on Science Projects, Technology and Innovation in the Interest of Defense (14th repid), held at the Institute for the Study of Mar Almirante Paulo Moreira (IEAPM ) in Arraial do Cabo (RJ) earlier this week.

Chaired by the director of the Department of Industrial Science and Technology (DCTI) of the Ministry of Defence, General Aderico Mattioli, the meeting dealt reviewing projects like Interoperability Program Tactical Command and Control; the Inova Aerodefesa; projects Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Project TR-5000 turbojets / TAAP Air Force; Program Radar Defense Army; Project Risk Mitigation Aviary Navy; and other technology initiatives underway

In addition, the generals met new projects being developed by technology areas of the armed forces, among them:. Terrestrial System Remotely Piloted Vehicles (SVTRP) of Army; the Triple Junction Solar Cells for Space and use infrared sensors for use in Defense Systems, the Air Force; the Electronic Warfare Suite and the Application of Nanotechnology in Combat Uniforms and Navy crews Operative.

Opening the meeting, the Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Navy, Admiral Sergio Roberto Fernandes, said that technological projects will provide the independence of the Defense Industrial Base in relation to the external market.
