News minute-by-Minute – the Next generation will use the technology in a way … – News up to the Minute (press release)

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known mostly as an actor, is at the Web Summit, the international conference on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, as the founder of hitREcord, the collaborative project around the creation of artistic collective, which he founded over a decade ago.

The hitRECord works as a online community, in which all members can collaborate on the development of a project – be it a book, a movie, a song – and in the end can be paid.

In ten years, the project has members of more than one hundred countries and has enabled the distribution of over two million dollars of remuneration.

In the Meo Arena, virtually exhausted, and with hundreds of spectators to share in direct and at the same time online everything that went on in the opening, Joseph Gordon-Levitt said that the future of the use of the Internet may be more collaborative and less narcissistic.

“Currently, only if you think in isolation. There [in the hitRECord] everything is collaborative, everything is done to facilitate the work together. (…) Of course, you know as well be paid, but people are more interested in being part of a community, sincere, participatory. Makes you feel good,” he said.

The actor, and entrepreneur believes that the next generation of Internet users will also take this path of collaboration. “Are you going to do things together that they could not do alone”.

Gordon-Levitt, who recently starred in the role of the computer Edward Snowden, the film Oliver Stone (“Snowden”), considers that technology is only good or bad depending on who uses it. Stating that “it must be very optimistic in the days of today”, the actor believes that, in the future, the technology will provide more freedom and better conditions to live.

The Web Summit is a global conference on technology, innovation and entrepreneurship which will run until Thursday, where they will be more than 50,000 participants from over 165 countries, including more than 20,000 companies, 7.000 executive officers and 700 investors.

Among the speakers will be the founders and executive officers of the largest technology companies, as well as important personalities from the areas of sport, fashion and music.
