MIT creates technology that allows people to see through walls – Pplware

The fear of invasion of private data is growing. The feeling “I have nothing to hide” is pure utopia, because no one likes to see their life exposed in public.

Now imagine what will live with the technology to identify people even being among walls inside a house? MIT already have this technology!

RF-Capture “see” through the wall of your home

If all goes to plan, the MIT will release a product to be marketed as early as 2016 that, through walls, captures the waves reflections of the human body to play your way. The technology allows even distinguish two side by side, and note that these move.

Now it starts to get uncomfortable, right? Well, imagine that you are someone outside of your home and know what you’re doing in-house, you know where it is, how many people are indoors and where these people are, all without sensors or camera in his comfortable.

Where you can use the RF-Capture?

Researchers from MIT, specifically a team from the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, have a wide range of possible scenarios for apply this technology. In day-to-day can be used to apply to the games segment , security, emergency medical aid to other more technology and even film set.

In the case of cinema, present the movies industry to capture the movement of the players have to wear these markers and move in a room full of cameras. With a new RF-Capture device, the actors could be traced even if they were behind a wall.

In a smart home, the systems could adjust the heating, lighting and other housing characteristics based on within doors in the position where people could follow because the through walls. With regard to health and well-being, with this system, engaging an emergency line, the means of relief could be triggered when a person fell or was unconscious, prompting the family, inclusive.

There are many scenarios but researchers have already put this operation in technology, created for this purpose a spinoff and launched a product. The Emerald is a system that is designed to detect, predict and prevent falls among the elderly. This innovative idea and its highly technological system were presented last August to US President Barack Obama during the Demo Day, an innovation forum hosted at the White House.

How the RF- system works Capture?

The RF-capture system emits a low-power radio signal that passes through walls and surrounds the body on the other side. The reflections are captured by a device that combines information from multiple reflected signals, putting it all together in one piece, this piece that builds a person’s silhouette.

Of course it can look more sinister technology that something useful. Of course it can be used by criminals who may determine whether someone is inside a housing choosing the best time for assault, of course can be used by the police to find out if certain elements that are in place are in places that do not can or should not … but this is all part of the development, where there are still many “ifs”.

Security is certainly a “thorn in the side” of this technology

researchers themselves are concerned that this technology could fall into the wrong hands and that are also developing blockers that will prevent the system tracks people if they do not, can only be to their own devices. Another aspect that has to be worked is the regulation itself, should be well defined when it can be used the mechanism keeping always well explains the law of privacy.

The persons responsible for the project indicate that the RF-Capture system still has a year to develop but that will come to market before the end of 2016.
