About five thousand square meters receive more than seven

An event based on a European Commission initiative -. this
year promoted in conjunction with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) – which
held in Lisbon, between 20 and 22 October.

More than seven thousand participants (1,500 Portuguese), 130 speakers and 150 innovative projects are
present in the first ICT 2015 event -
Innovate, Connect, Transform held in Portugal.
An initiative of the European Commission, co-organized by
Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in which Portugal is represented
through 14 stands , with the 50 most representative institutions in the area.
Pedro Carneiro, FCT, the Portuguese is the organizer
the presence of all the preparation and holding of the event.
In ICT2015 are several Portuguese representatives including two robots, IST, whose application in day-to-day serves to help serve the community or in the social environment, either in the clinical setting.
Pedro Carneiro for this event, the first of its kind in Portugal,
is the showcase or the meeting which takes place and analyzes the progress of the valences
global technology.
It involves researchers in areas related to technology,
academics, investors and entrepreneurs seeking to use science and
technology based projects.
For the organizer, this type of event serves
also as a meeting point between researchers and funding sources,
the European level is done in the network.

in contacts and therefore this type of event enhances these kinds of contacts,
so it is fundamental, not only the foundation but especially the units,
designs, researchers have access to this type of events to form

Portugal was the choice to host the event, after
having been in competition with other European countries like the Netherlands and
Italy, with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) a key role
to promote the country as well as the scientific and technological field.
The location was one of the points highlighted by FCT
to perform the ICT2015, this event being a significant opportunity to
put Portugal on the map of innovation and technology.
The aim is to make contacts with researchers and entrepreneurs
Portuguese with a view to funding opportunities in Horizon program
2020
RCAAP – a repository of scientific ideas
The idea is to gather and store ideas, data,
lectures, research and thesis
scientific which then can be consulted and downloaded from the Internet.
With more than 150,000 documents, the Repository Portal
Scientific Open Access Portugal (RCAAP) has consolidated the function of
aggregator of Portuguese science in open access since those documents.
The documents are available to download at any
Internet user thus present themselves without restrictions or barriers.
A project that has been replicated to some in Europe,
through the spaces of public university education.
But for Ana Cristina Neves, director of the Department of Information Society Foundation for Science and Technology in Portugal,
the idea is to give the world the knowledge and sharing of what best in the
universe of research.
In an interview with site RTP, Ana Neves explained that ”
investigator, to have access to other data, at no cost, faster has
more knowledge, you have access to other things, and knowledge goes much

In Portugal, the project has demonstrated remarkable progress
the movement of open access to scientific knowledge.
In recent years, the RCAAP project due to its

As for the financing of researchers,
director of RCAAP, connected to the FCT, says that financial matters are
directly associated with the state budget, but there is always great interest,
by the Portuguese scientific community, to have funds available for

The ICT2015 presents a wide exhibition program and
conferences, as well as several services directed to areas of research and development
computer.

One such example, present in ICT2015, is the project “Butler
and Casper “the Higher Technical Institute.
Two robots whose application in day-to-day serves to

The event is more focused on professionals from different scientific areas,
but the organization did not want the general public to stay arredado.
In the exhibition space, at Praça do Comércio, the organization built a small ICT2015
observatory that serves as a showcase to the public. There are disclosed various
innovative projects
