BIOTRONIK brings to the Brazilian market with pacemakers … – R7

SAO PAULO, 10 September 2014 / PRNewswire / – BIOTRONIK Brazil received ANVISA approval for the technology of full body scan (Full-Body) for MRI, no longer required exclusion area. With the new standard, is permitted to holders holding 100% of MRI examinations, including heart and liver tests. The measure applies to patients who have the unicameral and bicameral generators Entovis Evia and, when combined with the electrodes Conger Conger S 53 or S 60.

With this combination generator electrode, there is no exclusion zone and caveats about the time of examination. The technology ProMRI with Full-Body Scan eliminates restrictions as positioning the field of view during the procedure, the total accumulated time of the MRI scan (previously 30 minutes), total cumulative duration of the examination for the stimulation system (previously 10 hours ), body temperature and height of the patient (previously at least 1.40 m.)

Doctors estimate that approximately 50% to 70% of patients with implantable cardiac devices have an indication for an examination of MRI. At the same time, with the aging population, the need for more accurate diagnoses of diseases and traumas also grows annually about 10%, because this is an examination prescribed in cases of orthopedic trauma, aneurysm and other brain problems, heart disease and cancer, for example. Often elderly suffer these traumas and / or diseases in greater proportion.
