New technology can bring charging via solar energy to … – Tudocelular.com

Bringing solar cells for smartphones where they could recharge the battery of our device is actually not a new project. However, researchers at Michigan State University , USA, developed a luminescent solar concentrator fully transparent . But what does this mean?

Solar panels collect energy from the sun using dark silicon cells and convert it into electricity using the photovoltaic effect. However, this new technology offers the same principle but in an transparent material that is able to capture and redirect light waves of specific sunlight and direct them to the present photovoltaic cells on its edges.

“As the material does not absorb or emit light in the visible spectrum, it seems exceptionally transparent to human eyes,” said Richard Lunt, who led the research. “This can be used in tall buildings with lots of windows, or furniture that require high aesthetic quality, like a smartphone or e-reader devices,” adds the researcher.

you imagine this technology being used in smartphones and so the glass used on the device display to be able to capture solar waves and convert into energy to recharge the battery of the device? Yes, it will be a dream for those who dread getting through the day without charging the phone.
