Since 2004, National Week of Science and Technology occurs throughout Brazil in the month of October, under the coordination of the MCTIC. The Week seeks to mobilize the scientific community and the student, in particular children and young people, around topics and activities of science and technology. Another goal is to draw society’s attention to the relevance of the theme to the life of each, as well as to the development of the Country.
the theme of The National Week – “Science feeding the Brazil” – aligns itself to the decision of the United Nations General Assembly to proclaim 2016 as international year of the pulses. Faced with the choice, the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing organizes presentations of projects and talks on healthy eating and quality of life, basic health care, food culture, gastronomy and sustainable recycling of the bark of the green coconut.
