Dell study shows: alignment between decision-makers in the areas of … – Administrators

Dell announced the results of the global study Dell State of IT Trends 2016, aimed to map the main investment trends in information technology this year in view of the IT and business areas. The survey consulted 1,201 small business, medium and large companies in different countries, including Brazil.

The study, conducted by Penn Shoen Berland, at the request of Dell identified that the IT trends vision of business and technology area makers have evolved and are more aligned than they realize. What tends to contribute to a better use of IT as an essential factor for the success of organizations.

“There is a misperception that business leaders are disconnected from strategic discussions IT, but times have changed “says John Bortone, Director of Products and Dell Enterprise Solutions to Latin America. “This study shows that there is a growing understanding among IT decision makers and business on the main trends of IT and the growing opportunities that IT can address,” he concludes.

The study found that in the current economy , data-driven, companies seek agility, efficiency, scalability and ability to respond to business applications in real time. According to the study Dell State of IT Trends 2016, increasing business productivity is the main demand for 81% of IT decision makers and 77% of business decision-makers, followed by the need to impact business growth, with 71 % and 69% of responses, respectively

Overall, companies of all sizes and in developed and developing markets follow aligned according to the following trends:.

 

· 62% of IT decision makers and 51% of business decision makers agree that cloud computing is the most important technology trend for your business.


 

The expansion capability in the use of public cloud, according to the need is evaluated as important for 83% of IT makers and 74% of business

 

· According to 88% of IT decision makers and 80% of business, their organizations consider adopting, are in the process of adoption or have completed the migration to data center defined by software.


 

Both the groups agree that the benefits of this model are flexibility, simplicity, efficiency and cost reduction. IT decision makers indicate more often that this migration is already underway and indicate scalability main benefit (57% on 40% of business decision makers)

 

· Two in each interviewed agreed that they should use data center open technologies in the future and 86% of IT decision makers and 85% of businesses agree that the strategy centered computing is the best approach to gain flexibility, scalability and to open data centers.

 

In terms of spending on technology in 2016, the cloud is the first priority, 67% for IT leaders and 59% in business acumen. Following importance appears updating of data storage technologies and the shopping area (54% and 48%, respectively).

The results of the study confirm that the customer-centric strategies, data center defined by software-centric computing are among the priorities that business and iT leaders seeking to meet their business goals:

 

· Eight in 10 respondents agree that an approach centered computing to develop data center solutions is the key to promote innovation.


  

· Over eight in 10 respondents agree that integrate hiperconvergentes solutions is the first step towards the adoption of a data center defined by software.


 

· The makers also said that the adoption of a data center defined by software is the most important enabler for digital processing and a cloud hybrid strategy is seen as the best place for the data center defined by software in the future.

 

· Almost all decision makers agree that open technologies support better data center trends facing applications, portability and data management compared to proprietary hardware solutions.


 

· The ability to solve problems quickly is a major global concern for all respondents when it comes to data center management.
