The Working Committee of Public Service and Administration approved on Wednesday (25), the Bill 7990/14, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), establishing 673 permanent posts in the establishment plans of the electoral regional courts across the country, for the information technology units.

The opinion of the rapporteur, Mr Paulo Pereira da Silva (SD-SP), was supportive of the proposal. He points out that the area of ​​courts of information technology has shown a great lack of servers, due to the new activities that emerged in 2005 and which are still in progress, such as the Electronic Judicial Process, the implementation of biometric identification of the voter, systems to ensure the vote in transit accessibility for people with special needs, referendum and simultaneous referenda elections; and changes in the database and systems to enable the biometric registration.

Currently, only 90 electoral systems are maintained and developed by the TSE, and another 150 are in production, several of them nationwide. The TSE also provides care and support for all of Elections telecommunications network.

For the text, the expenditures with the proposal will be borne by the budget allocation assigned to the Electoral Court. According to the proposal, the measure is an impact of 2.5% compared to the staffing and costs of Elections, whose amount is $ 78.08 million.
