Porto will host the international conference on music and technology – the Observer

Tomorrow Comes Today (TCT) is an independent project international that promises to bring the world community of the music industry to the Port, the 12 and 13 October 2017. Objective: to reflect on the past of the industry, discuss the present and imagine the one who could be the future of the sector, explains João Afonso, director-general of the conference and founder of the startup Portuguese Musikki.

The conference aims to gather together all the music industry world under the same roof, opening up the space to a healthy confrontation of ideas and to produce practical results that can influence the path of the industry in the coming years. The initial idea was to hold a conference in London, but I insisted that the ideal place for a worldwide event would have to be the beautiful city of Porto," said João Afonso.

The idea of promoting the TCT came up in conversations João Afonso with other people in the industry. "The conferences existing has a tendency to target the industry are more focused on the technology, or more focused on the music. the For us, this distinction no longer makes sense today. The technology is part of the music industry," explains the Observer.

The director of the conference explains that it was the release of Exclusiph – tool pioneer in the management and distribution of images to the music industry, which launched in April 2016, – which allowed contact with "all stakeholders in the new music industry", and that, therefore, was challenged to lead the project.

During the two days, the Undefeated will be the meeting point where entrepreneurs in the field of music, brands, publishers, promoters, investors will openly discuss their concerns, needs, and expectations for the coming years. And where there are plenty of artists. João Afonso believes that they are "the cornerstone of the industry."

The artists should be heard in all matters that concern the art they create and the business that generates out of this art. As we give everyone else involved a chance to share their opinions, we hope to contribute to a better future for this art, which is so essential to our lives," said João Afonso, in a statement.

in Addition to the discussion panels, of interventions and of workshops that the conference will promote, Tomorrow Comes Today will count with several concerts, showcases, exhibition or other views. The official website of the international conference of music is released on the 14 February, where will be announced the first keynote speakers, major sponsors and the cost of the tickets for the conference.
