Consultant to the Portuguese wants to create technology center in Beijing – News up to the Minute (press release)

“The goal is to create a centre able to support researchers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMES [small and medium-sized enterprises] european in the first steps of approach to the Chinese market”, explained the director of the SPI, Sara Medina.

The project, called ERICENA, kicks off this month, and has a budget of three million euros, financed in the framework of “Horizon 2020″, the largest public program to support research and innovation in the world.

With headquarters in Beijing, the center will begin operating in 2019.

THE SPI in collaboration with european entities, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and chinese universities.

The center’s services will include the “organization of events to increase the exchange between researchers in china and the european” and the “production of reports on the progress of China in the field of technology,” reveals the company in a statement.

Beijing is to enter into a transition on the chinese economic model, in order to bring greater preponderance of the service sector and technology, to the detriment of the secondary sector.

Founded in 1997, the Portuguese Society of Innovation is a consultant in private that operates in the areas of innovation, promotion of internationalization of companies and knowledge management.

in Addition to having a representative office in Beijing, is also present in Macau and Singapore, the United States of America and various points of Europe.

On January 19, the SPI will launch officially the project ERICENA with a discussion at the Noble Hall of the University of Porto that will bring together European researchers, entrepreneurs and companies.
