Transit »More technology at the lights of Recife next … – Diário de Pernambuco (Signature)

Besides being used in planning to interfere with the behavior of the tracks, the technology is also a partner of system operation. The transit agency of Recife is implementing traffic lights that will help to monitor the signal crossing, stops on the crosswalk, speeding, movement restriction and prohibited conversions.

The devices begin to fine violators next Monday -Thurs, day 28. The record of this type of infringement by electronic surveillance is unprecedented in the city. Grantees crossings are located at Avenida Governador Magalhães Agamemnon, Boa Vista Avenue Conde, Boa Viagem Avenue, Recife Avenue, Engineer Avenue de Carvalho and Abdias at Rua Professor Arnaldo Carneiro Leao, just off the Via Mangue.

All points will receive signs in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic Council (CONTRAN). The chosen sites were identified from technical analysis that took into account the geometry of the tracks, the history of accidents in the localities and the average volume of vehicles and pedestrians in crossing.
