It was inaugurated on Monday (8) in Bethlehem, the Technology Laboratory Against Money Laundering, the 32 laboratory in operation at the National Technology Network Against Money Laundering of the National Public Security Secretariat (Senasp) . The laboratory will have the task of assisting the organs of the Public Security System, prosecution, judiciary and others who require specialized technical support on the issue.
For the general coordinator of the National Network Technology Laboratories, Roberto Zaina, the state gained a significant enhancement in the fight against money laundering. “The unit is for the Ministry of Justice for an investment of $ 1.5 million and uses high technology to the analysis of financial data, bank and tax, aimed at assisting in criminal investigations,” Zaina said.
“The unit streamlines research, seeking financial suffocation, identifies and recovers the value, which was the result of illegal activities within Brazil,” said the national secretary Regina Mikki. “With this tool you can identify the network the proceeds of crime and recover these assets, so that these values return to society through schools, kindergartens, hospitals, recreational areas, among other investments,” he added Regina.
