The Lagoon christmas tree is in its 19th edition and this year’s theme for the show is “a Christmas light.” Up close, it seems even greater. But many electronics not work alone. In the group of 1,200 professionals working in design, assembly and tree maintenance, a super power generation system feeds the show that happens every night. Despite the economy, the tree still consumes a lot of energy. Omar estimates that the tree consume somewhere around 15 000 kVA per hour. Without telemetry, the consumption would rise to 24 000 kVA per hour, something equivalent to 600 home energy consumption for one month. The savings of 40% reduces this number to around 360 homes.
