The Cooperative Free Technologies (Coolivre), founded in early 2006, in Salvador (BA), is a proof that the solidarity enterprises are able to shine in the competitive world of information technology. The success of Noosfero, a free software for social networks created by Coolivre, in partnership with leading national and international institutions, received more recognition. This time won first place in innovation and technology category in the ninth version of the Cooperative of the Year Award, established by the Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives (OCB), in partnership with the Globo Rural magazine.
Noosfero is a free platform used in social networks and solidarity economy for production and content sharing. The idea of developing the project came in 2007, during the Brazilian Forum of Solidarity Economy (FBES), which features representatives of the various spheres of the executive and non-governmental organizations. At first, Noosfero aimed to meet the demand for a multimedia platform, with free license to gather various features and allow complete autonomy over the network, control over the generated data and guarantee the security of information.
Currently, the application and replication of Noosfero platform is used by users like the Barter Network and Cirandas.net, Bahia; the Paulo Freire Institute and the University of São Paulo (USP) in São Paulo; and the Digital Thought Foundation in Porto Alegre (RS). Innovation, which accelerated to attract new members, is also present in other countries such as Spain, Germany, Italy, France, China, Poland, Switzerland, Senegal and Japan. Coolivre became a reference of cooperative action in the digital world.

The second place in the category innovation and technology OCB award was cooperative Sicoob Cocred of Sertaozinho (SP), awarded for the implementation of marketing Agribusiness Credit Bills project (LCA), a derivative released by banks to raise funds for chain of agribusiness. The project goal was to expand the volume of funding and attract new investors because the LCA offers best value to the associated, and provide reducing the cost of funding for the cooperative. Currently, the institution counts a portfolio of more than US $ 130 million. The sum claimed by queue concerned in accordance with cooperative data, exceeds £ 40 million.

The Cotrijal, Non-me-Toques (RS), won third place in the OCB award this year for its restructuring project of technical assistance to members. The project stems from the observation that, given the competitive markets, we need to constantly invest in professional training, technology and improvements in care processes. One of the first results of the project was the implementation of the Program Integration, which established a customized and customer groups with the same profile and needs.
