KC-390, the Brazilian plane with Portuguese technology – TSF Online

António Costa will be present in Alverca for the presentation of the new unit of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.

Portugal is involved in the project through the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Industry (development and tests) and Embraer units in the country: OGMA in Alverca, and factories in Évora (building components) .Construída by Brazilian Embraer, the aircraft, which also includes Portuguese technology, has enabled the creation of hundreds of jobs.

the KC-390 will be presented soon afternoon at Aeronautic Alverca Park, in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira. The first unit to be delivered to the Air Force of Brazil in early 2018.

The new aircraft can replace the Air Force Portuguese, the Hercules C-130. Like other 30 countries, Portugal has signed a letter of intent to purchase up to 6 planes, but there is not yet a formal decision on the matter.

 The defense minister, Azeredo Lopes, said in April that the state remains interested in the purchase of these aircraft, assuming that the decision will have to be taken later or earlier.
