UEFA approves goal-line technology in the late ‘Champions … – Observer

The goal-line technology already will be effective this time in the final of the Champions League and the Europa League, decided today to UEFA, in the Executive Committee meeting at the headquarters of the agency in Nyon in Switzerland.

the decision to use the technology in the Euro 2016 football, starting on June 10 in France and in European club competition next season had already been taken in January, but has now been extended to the end of this year.

the Europa League final is scheduled for May 18 in Basel, Switzerland, and the Champions League on May 28 in Milan, Italy.

the technology, which evaluates whether the ball crosses completely the goal line, it is used in English, Italian, German and French leagues.

FIFA also resorted to it in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, after a series of successful tests.
