The use of goal-line technology was approved for the finals of UEFA EURO 2016 in France, as well as for the 2016/17 edition of the UEFA Champions League, from the “play-off”. The system will be in place along with additional assistant referees, who will continue to monitor all activity in the area and its surroundings. The vendor-line goal of the technology system will be announced shortly.
The UEFA Executive Committee also decided to assess the reliability of implementing the-line goal technology in the UEFA Europa League from the group stage, starting in season 2017/18.
