The retro design has always been one of the most attractive features of the Pen. What has been reinforced in the new pen-F, which includes metal structure and leather covering. Ie beyond the retro aspect, this Pen is also betting on more premium materials.
But despite looking like a chamber of the last century, the interior is home to the best technology from the Japanese manufacturer. Much of this technology is inherited from professional OM-D line, as in the case of sophisticated stabilizer 5 axes, which Olympus claims to be “the best in the market ‘and the ability to generate 50 megapixel images from Mirco Four sensor thirds of 20 megapixels. – this function is based on the sensor movement to capture more than an exhibition, meaning they can only be used in still photography
The Olympus also highlights the electronic display of high resolution (more than two million points), the highest response speed, sequential shooting up to 10 frames per second and the autofocus system with photographer’s eye detection. This camera is equipped with Wi-Fi, touch LCD screen and is capable of a 1/8000 shutter speed in mechanical and up to 1/16000 in electronic mode mode. The video has a maximum resolution of 1080p at 50 frames per second.
As usual in the Pen, this is a camera of compact interchangeable lenses (125x72x37 mm) and low weight (427 grams).
The Pen-F is available in black or silver from the middle of next month. Advertised prices are € 1199 for the the body, € 1,399 in a kit with the objective M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm 1-3.5-5.6 EZ Pancake and € 1499 with the objective M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 17mm 1:. 1.8
