No new phone, LG thin TV shows and technology for cars … – Globo.com

LG stepped on the accelerator at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) and presented its initiative to join the wave of connected cars.

G1 is in Las Vegas for CES 2016, which opens on Wednesday (6). Follow here full coverage.

During presentation on Tuesday (5), South Korea showed still a new electronics brand and high-end appliances, called the LG Signature with a super-thin TV. The other news is that the first commercial line 8K TVs will hit stores by the end of 2016.

The absence of the party was on account of the LG G Flex 3, renovation of the G Flex 2, presented at issue CES 2015.

The flagship of LG’s premium line is the G6, an ultra high-definition OLED TV with a thickness of 2.57 mm a card. With little more than the thickness of a credit card, the TV screen is attached to glass.

The TV has HDR technology (High Dynamic Range), which shows more color points per point on the screen and improves the incident light. With it, LG promises 4K images with high enough resolution to display space videos with great clarity even if they are viewed from Earth.

The LG stated that this line of TVs begin to be sold in the United States in February and should arrive in Brazil, but there is no date. The LG Signature also has washing machines, refrigerators and air purifiers.

For those who like to get behind the wheel, LG showed its technology arsenal to enter the race for connected cars. The company has created an industry to create technology focused on the automotive sector, which will take efforts in batteries, cameras and screens. Still in prototype stage, one of the initiatives is to turn the front window of vehicles panoramas that display information such as time and temperature.

Another one is an expansion in sensor capability, so that cars traveling on the same highway to communicate with each other in real time. As a result, “warn” about problems on the road and mechanical operation, in addition to signaling. Thus, the information is passed on, so that a driver who is at the beginning of the road can know the surprises that the journey awaits.

Volkswagen and Google are already partners, but more are to come, ensures the south -coreana. LG did not say whether there are already cars that use this technology.
