Father creates app to find autistic children – Daily News – Lisbon

The AngelSense application issues alerts and gives the location of children with special needs

It’s called AngelSense and is a kind of precious GPS for parents with children with special needs. The mobile app was created by Doron Somer, an American who has an autistic son, and was intended to invent a technology to help parents when their children are lost. Has allowed to find several lost children.

Autism is a neurological disorder that affects behavior, especially in personal interaction. These patients normally isolate themselves and have greater difficulty communicating with others. The American Pediatric Society believes that this is the biggest concern of families with autistic children and several studies show that nearly half of these families reported disappearances of children. An additional concern, since some result in deadly situations, trampling, hypothermia, among other reasons.

This is why Doron Somer wanted to create an application that would allow parents find their children as quickly as possible without waste time. The AngelSense has a list of predefined contacts alert, people receiving a message so parents carry an application button to say that the child is lost and the area where you are.

The system allows parents follow the route of the children in a very simple way on your phone. The mechanism is intelligent enough to learn the child’s habitual route. And so whenever this for an unusual area, launches a warning to parents and a link for them to see the area where the child is.

In this way the response will be as fast as possible. When he was to be tested in 2015, the application allowed to find an autistic boy of 17 who was lost in New York to launch an alert to the police. After that, most children were found thanks to the app .
