A Chinese child of three implanted in his skull three titanium parts made in 3D printers, a surgical alternative to treat hydrocephalus.

The disease is a severe neurological abnormality that increases the volume space containing cerebrospinal fluid, which causes pressure on the brain.

The procedure was performed in a hospital in Changsha, in Hunan province, China, on Wednesday (14). According to local media, the child, who is called Hanhan, must perform more surgeries to decrease the skull size.

In one of the pictures released by Reuters, one Hanhan’s aunt is touched to see the child was recovering after surgery.
