Director highlights use of clean technologies at home – AngolaPress

In an interview to Angop environmental technologies during the 40 years of national independence, the Director said that despite the country not be regarded as a producer of technologies, has observed a process of technology transfer to ensure environmental sustainability.

In his view, during this period was to elaborating guiding documents that promote good practices related to the use of green technologies.

Gabriel Luís Miguel found that, in this context, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCT), through its National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation (PNCTI) and the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation (ENCTI), highlights the promotion of clean development, with scientific and technical research.

As an example of the various MINCT programs linked to the preservation of the environment, there is the center of the Southern African Science and Services for Adaptation to Climate Change and Sustainable Use of Soils (SASSCAL), which includes countries like Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Germany, with research related to climate, water, forest, agriculture, biodiversity and development capabilities.

In this program, he added, Angola has 13 projects with involvement of 83 researchers, of which 63 Angolans.

Also as part of SASSCAL, Angola benefited ten automatic weather stations, which are located in the provinces of Uíge, Malanje, Huambo, Kwanza Sul, Kwanza Norte, Huíla , Benguela, Moxico, Lunda Sul and Kuando Kubango.
