Ford develops technology that identifies hazards on the road – vroom (Signature) (Blog)

Ford announced it is developing lighting technologies that will allow the driver to predict potential hazards in the road overnight. The system is a combination of the adaptive headlight and program that recognizes traffic signs.

The “Spot Lightning” chamato uses an infrared camera to detect people, cyclists and animals on the vehicle’s trajectory. It does identify up to eight elements simultaneously and shows the driver what priority. All commands can be observed on a screen that is on the car dashboard.

This technology is being developed at the European Center for Research and Innovation Ford in Aachen, Germany, and will soon come to market. The system can, using the GPS, better illuminate the road bends and depressions. Moreover, all the way information is stored and used when the same passage is used again.
