Nuno Fonseca, professor at the College of Technology and Management School (ESTG), the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPLeiria), was recently in the United States, where he presented his new audio technology to the main sound designers in Hollywood.
With the ability to handle thousands of sounds at the same time, this new technology is especially suited to large film productions, having already been used in films like the remake of ‘Poltergeist’, and is now being used in some blockbusters with premiere scheduled for 2016.
“With this new technology, the computer can create and manage thousands of sounds simultaneously, achieving a result much more realistic and much less work,” explains Nuno Fonseca.
Nuno Fonseca yet to release its new application in meetings with audio technology companies (Dolby and Avid), and the companies related to video games and virtual reality (Warner Bros Game Audio, Source Sound and Q Department).
