Scopus introduces new technology of identification and detection – Bitmag

The novelty, which won eFinance Award for Innovation , will in the future add an additional level of security authentication of financial services users and e-commerce, among other applications.

“the gait may indicate unique characteristics of a person,” says Reginaldo Arakaki, area manager Consulting and Innovation Scopus. “With the technology we are developing, the idea is to use the sensors embedded in the smartphone user’s own to collect data identifying the activity you are doing and in the future, may be used to define your biometric pattern of movement, “he adds.

in this first stage of the project, the information captured by the mobile sensors – accelerometer, GPS – for recognizing activities like walking, running, cycling or jogging in a vehicle (car or bus). Used in conjunction with recommendation algorithms, this information may help suggest a product or service to a customer, at an opportune time, for example.

The development of the project provides for the combination of data captured by sensors smartphone pattern detection algorithms being developed by Scopus. This will be the first application of the Brazil-based standard for authentication technology to walk the user.
