After the closure of another weekend with another round of the Brasileirão, numerous complaints against refereeing errors were recorded. This has become routine in Brazilian football. In recent days, even some club presidents came to make public statements by the CBF, feeling hurt by weak performances of the referees. However, it seems that this problem is close to having a solution, if not definitive, at least with a marked improvement. At least that is what ensures the President of the Arbitration Commission of the CBF, Sergio Correa.

Correa said the governing body of Brazilian football is about to carry out the first tests with the video technology for matches in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship. According to him, this system will also be tested this year as offline , ie no communication with the umpire standing in the field. Correa also said that this technology will first be available in matches held in southern Brazil later to be extended to other states of the Federation. A game schedule of Serie A where these experiments will be applied has been assembled by CBF.

The President of the Arbitration Commission also took the opportunity to comment about the moment experienced by the Brazilian Arbitration. According to Sergio Correa, there are referees who are “finding themselves” and because it promised to hold a major renovation in the workforce of the Brazilian Football Confederation.

Correa also said that there are arbitration professionals who consider themselves more important that the players themselves, although they are few, and orientatdos be notified. If the conversation does not take effect and these arbitrators can not adapt to the standards will be replaced because there are a lot of young people who are being prepared to act in Brazilian Championship games. Sergio Correa revealed that aims to promote greater CBF renewal in the framework of the arbiters of the past 20 years.
