Samsung intends to lead the standardization of 5G technology – Tudocelular.com

Internet 5G is already on track has several years, not only at the hands of a single company or agency. Initially, we saw that the ITU has set the 5G technology to be used by telephone operators in the future availability of mobile networks. The ITU 5G networks defined as having data rate of at least 20 Gbps. Soon after, Samsung Electronics and the Korean telecom operator LG U + have announced they will also come together to jointly develop the new standard 5G. The Korean carrier KT has announced it plans to show 5G networks during the 2018 Winter Olympics to be held in Korea.

Not only Korea or Japan, which is seeking to accelerate the development of new connection standard mobile. Nokia will also be part of the disclosure of commercial 5G around the world, the technology should be spread through Europe at the hands of the company. He wants to release the news during the European Football Championship to be held in 2020. The event will take place in 13 countries, ie will offer news to thousands of people.

Huawei is another company that has already revealed that he is working in partnership with the Russian company MegaFon, to provide the technology during the World Cup 2018. Offering mobile connection in major events is something that happens for some years, including Brazil. Thus, before such “competition” Samsung wants to invest even more heavily in the development of 5G technology and be the first or among the first to bring the news to various markets.

Samsung presented its proposal in workshop 3GPP RAN 5G held in Phoenix, Arizona last week. For those who have no knowledge of 3GPP, this is a private organization that decides technical standards and understands the communications providers and companies of large mobile equipment worldwide.

This particular workshop was attended by about 500 industry officials, including officials from 60 mobile operators. A gradual normalization schedule has been proposed to set up the first standard for 5G networks including higher frequency bands technologies above 6GHz for implementation in 2018 with the timeline for the second standard set for December 2019.

Many participating companies, including but not limited to Samsung Electronics, Nokia, Qualcomm, Ericsson, SK Telecom and NTT DoCoMo have formed a consensus on this proposal, as it establishes a path for effective standardization of mobile communication technologies 5G with several service options.
