Battalion Currencies: Police officers are trained to operate technology … – Ceará

In order to exercise effective ostensible policing, prioritizing the preservation of life through equipment and techniques based on the principles of legality, proportionality and necessity, the police officers who are being trained by the State of Ceará Academy of Public Security (PEA) to integrate the second stage of currency Battalion, participating this week training on “Minor Offensive Potential Technologies (TMPO).”

 
 

According to the Captain of the Shock Police Battalion (BPChoque), Naerton Gomes de Menezes the “less offensive potential equipment”, are high-tech devices, but offer low probability of causing death or permanent injury. This methodology is used in the fight against crime and in riot control operations in which police integrity is not at risk.


 
 

The Captain explains that training is essential for the police know employ this type of technology safely. “It’s not that non-lethal weapons or sublethal, that I can use in any way. During the instruction the students learned the definitions, characteristics, properties, classification and use of TMPO. In addition to knowing and using equipment such as launcher of non-lethal ammunition; chemical munitions; impact munitions controlled, popularly known with rubber bullet; electrical conductivity weapons such as taser; explosive grenade light and sound, stun grenades; ammunition and tear gas emissions pepper spray.

 
 

For Soldier Mendonça Filho, who has spent four months in the PM, the course came to complement their initial training. “I had already experienced this content basic shape and now I’m getting in more depth. And this statement will be very useful in our day-to-day, because our intention is to apply the law, but preserve life, that I find very important. ” He spoke of expectations in joining the currency Battalion, “I know that the currency Battalion will be a great success because preventing the entry of weapons and drugs, we will be contributing to the reduction of crime not only in the interior and in the currencies, but Here in the capital, “he said.

 
 

This is the second edition of the Currency Policing Course sponsored by the PEA and was completed today (13), fulfilling a workload of 224 hours / class.
