High speed 3D printer for stem cells – Daily News – Lisbon

The test run shows that is possible to manufacture large quantities and at high speed

It is open the way for the manufacture of stem cells on a large scale, said Nano Dimension, Israeli company tested in the laboratory a 3D printer for this type of cells.

“3D printing living cells is a technology that has already a significant role in medical research, but to achieve the full potential to evolve further in the field, it is necessary to develop the print speed, resolution, cell control and its viability as well as cell availability technologies and bio-ink, “said an official of the Nano Dimension, Amit Dror. The partnership between this company and Accelta Ltd has lead to reach a quick 3D printer and able to mass produce.

The two companies are now considering the creation of a third, dedicated to the development of this technology.

stem cells are cells with the capacity to self-renew, divide and transform other types of cells.
