Have you noticed how robots are being introduced into the world economy? A car factory using robots to assemble vehicles and employees. Robots carry the component parts of the car, while workers make manual adjustments. For example, a popular vehicle in Brazil in a unit of General Motors takes a day to get ready.
The automotive sector is not the only one to benefit from robots or advances in technology. But have you thought what will be the result in the labor market?
Dr. Luis Camilo Almeida, 42, a professor of communication at Jackson State University in the US state of Mississippi, worrying too much about the subject, and in an interview with VOA focuses on the systemic side effects of the technologies, and how they are changing the equation of world production.
He said that investors are trying to change that with the exception of hand labor, which is very dangerous.
“Just because there is the advancement of technology and the idea that machines can do the work of man, or in many cases even replace hand labor human, does not mean we should do it . “
Among the professions that are suffering the negative impact of the advancement of technology, teachers and lawyers can be cited, among others.
” what will happen to the our society when we do not have the citizen to earn income? What will happen to the economy? “
Dr. Almeida expects that the work will become more scarce, and so it will be an increase in unemployment, which also increases the violence.
..Dr Almeida is pessimistic about the future, and think that society will not be able to prevent the worst from happening
He concludes: “Why has this idea that artificial intelligence is one thing great? The robots are coming and that’s pretty much on paper. But when we have to put the food in the stomach and help communities, the robots will begin to take our work. “
