Technology assists municipalities in urban planning – EBC

The Coordinator of the Research Group on Urban Risks Technological Federal University of Paraná, professor Ney Tabalipa, told the magazine Brazil talks about technological tools in urban planning. He explains that these tools are essential and would avoid in many cases, disaster and tragedy in the cities.
The teacher explains that it is possible to make a series of activities to prevent, mitigate risk and vulnerability of cities. As an example of technology, he cites the phone via text messaging, SMS, informing the public about the level of rainfall and possible flooding. “The main risk in this area would be the development of mapping, making such information available to municipalities so they know their areas of risk to which the population has this knowledge,” he says.
Ney Tabalipa reports that there are tools in the field of technology that can help municipal managers who take care of the urbanism are programmed to serve the population immediately.
the issue will be discussed on Thursday, during the II Cities Forum digital Southwest in Pato Branco, Paraná.
