UEFA admits adopt goal-line technology in 2016 – Observer

UEFA will decide in January to adopt the goal-line technology in the Euro 2016 games and then in the Europa League, announced the secretary general of the organization, Gianno Infantino.

“The goal-line technology is under discussion for some time,” said the head of UEFA at a press conference at the end of a meeting of the executive committee of the organization, stating there is a “positive attitude” regarding their introduction.

“There are practical issues to be addressed. (…) When the UEFA decide to use the technology, will be for the Euro and for the club competition the UEFA next season (…), which means 80 stadiums, with all the technical and logistical challenges that entails, “he said.

goal-line technology, which lets you know, in cases of doubt, where the ball went or not the goal, is already used in four major European leagues (Germany, France, Italy and England).

The suspended president of UEFA, Michel Platini, is an opponent of introduction of technology, which has already been introduced by FIFA in the World Championship 2014.
