Positive council approves purchase of 50% of company … – Yahoo News Brazil

SAO PAULO (Reuters) – The Board of Directors of Positivo Informática, a leading computer manufacturers in Brazil, approved buy . 50 percent of Hit Technology in Health, startup that produces health monitoring devices

Disclosure the acquisition was made in the minutes of the meeting of the Council Positivo Informática published on Wednesday. When contacted, the company did not elaborate. Hit representatives of Technology were able to comment immediately

The Hit Technology is headquartered in the industrial pole Curitiba. The company originated in the early 2000s, technological incubator Curitiba (Intec) and developed a telemedicine system for which obtained patent.

The company produces oximeters, devices for monitoring deliveries, electrocardiograms reports systems and sleep apnea detectors

Amid the shrinking of the computer market in the face of competition from smartphones and economic recession, Positivo has invested in new business areas

In mid-October, the company relaunched the brand in Brazil of sophisticated Vaio PCs, eyeing more affluent customers, after supporting the end September the launch of the National smartphones Quantum brand. In July, the joint venture company with the Argentinean BGH inaugurated factory in Kigali, Rwanda, for the manufacture of notebooks and tablets

Positivo Informática closed the third quarter with a 90 percent drop in net income over the same period last year, down by 23.6 percent decline in sales of computers and tablets

According to the IDC market research firm, sales of personal computers in the Brazil are expected to fall 29 percent in 2015, to 7.4 million units
