The UEMS (State University of Mato Grosso do Sul) will hold an event to discuss new rules for science and technology in Brazil, through the New Legal Framework. This meeting, which will support the Fundect (Foundation to Support the Development of Education, Science and Technology) will be next July 21, from 8.30 am in the Campo Grande unit.

Among the guests at the event will be Dr. Sampaio Gesil Amarante II, who has participated in other discussions on the subject in other states. He will coordinate the discussions. The vice-rector of the UEMS, Laércio Alves de Carvalho, said that with this new federal law, states must be prepared and aware of the changes.
Sampaio will also be a meeting with the Secretary of state for Culture, Tourism and Innovation, Renato Roscoe and representatives of other entities of Mato Grosso do Sul, to talk about the changes in legislation, and should be the policies pursued at the state level.
One of the main changes is to reduce bureaucracy in the sector, for the purchase of equipment and performance of researchers with companies. Laércio said the intention is to facilitate and improve the working conditions of these professionals to generate more innovation.
