3D technology brings us to the ancient Iberian – Sputnik Brazil

idea expand public property in the Iberian archaeological site of Ullastret, located in Girona, Spain, opened an immersion room that lets you make a virtual trip to this ancient city in about the year 250 BC, reports the Ara.cat.

technical selected this precise moment in history due to it being better known than others and allow creating a more authentic atmosphere of the time: the landscape surrounding the city, the location of lakes, cultivated fields and paths leading to the fortress . The recreation contains a whole wealth of details, like the looms used at the time, grain mills, wood stoves and ceramic products were the inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula for over two millennia in their homes. The recreation in 3D of the city of Ullastret, 2200 years ago, is the biggest technological advancement in the field of archaeological research with 3D registered to date in relation to iberas cities.

The diving room of Ullastret site has dimensions approximate to a quarter of one of the town houses 10 square meters. Moreover, it is equipped with three screens involving the public and a 3D audio system designed for the “soaking” of the viewer. The project cost about 100,000 euros (over US $ 360,000).
