Fibria’s industrial unit installed in Jacarei started the implementation of the Electronic Pointing. The system is to automate the transmission of harvest data, allows remote monitoring of activities and brings qualitative improvements to operational performance.
In the field, with the help of an onboard computer, machine operators forest record all the activities, such as crop production, machine performance and possible eventualities.
according to the harvest manager of Fibria, Luiz Sergio Coelho Cerqueira Filho, in order to improve the management eucalyptus harvest. “Through this technology, operators have qualified their working time, which was previously done on paper sheets and then scanned for making reports, is now automated,” says
The system also allows send data directly to the forest machine data integration system when operators are in areas with internet coverage via wi-fi or digital radio. In places where there is no internet coverage, the forest machine data is stored on a smartphone and transmitted later, so enters an area with internet coverage.
This is one of the developments of new technological applications, that are part of SMART Forest Programme (intelligent Forest), a strategic plan that proposes new technology solutions and features for the activities of the forest operation of Fibria.
