Rondonia have technology competition between Federal Institutes – Portal Brazil

Old Port meets from the 30th, students from 16 institutes; event ensures wave of Knowledge 2016 Olympics

Between May 30 and June 1, the city of Porto Velho (RO) will host the Challenge of Technology and Innovation of the Federal Institutes , organized by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Rondônia (IFRO). In its first edition, the event will feature more than 200 competitors from all over the country and 16 federal institutes.

This is the first edition of the challenge, it will bring six sports competition, one pre- selective for the Knowledge Olympics – higher professional education event in Latin America – which will select participants for Worldskills 2017. the event’s opening ceremony will be held at Campus Porto Velho Calama, next Monday 30 at 19:30 <. / p>

One of the great challenge of disputes is the Robotino. Competition ensures places for the Knowledge Olympics 2016. The winners of this stage will have the opportunity to represent Brazil in WorldSkills 2017, an international event that brings together more than 60 countries around the world.

All categories will be played the three-day event at the same time: the Rescue, category Robotics Olympiad (OBR); Journey to the Center of the Earth (Labyrinth); Line Follower (beginner class); Cospace (virtual class); Sumo (Newbie) and Robotino.

Workshops

The Challenge will also have a part open to the public, with free workshops for robot programming. The workshops will have an average duration of three hours and will consist of up to 20 people over 13 years. Registration may be made at the place of the event.

Participants will be instructed on how to program the brain of the robot for simple movements. “Robots will be ready and will be presented the coupled equipment and the operation of each of them: the engine, the sensors and the brain of the robot,” said Willian de Paula Pereira, computer teacher IFRO and Challenge organizer. Still according to him, no previous knowledge is not necessary to subscribe. “It’s quite intuitive, the knowledge will be put through the everyday things, the person will be guided all the time,” he said.

The purpose of the event is to foster the development of technical and scientific skills in network, equalizing the experiences and preparing the elite groups in educational robotics. The event has the support of the Secretariat of Vocational and Technological Education (SETEC) of the Ministry of Education
