On the farm in Maracaí (SP), the harvest was already mechanized, but now is also automated. All to avoid losses and increase the earnings of farmers. The loss reduction was 10%, an index that makes a difference at the end of the season.

Our Field found that use of GPS allows harvesting everything that was planted. Some machines have to autopilot. In the control center, you can know everything that is happening in real-time farming. This monitoring is done by satellite. The graphs show the crop conditions: where is producing more, which is low productivity and the incidence of pests
Prior to this technology, pest control was done in the whole plantation.. Now you can know what the weed and where it is attacking. And the application of herbicides is made in the affected area only.
Since this is still lacking all the technology of skilled labor, many people are trying to specialize. Pompeii (SP), there is a course aimed for precision agriculture. It is the only one offered in the country, with 160 students starting classes each year.
