Magnates technology are for secret meeting in the US – Digital Journal

If you have never heard of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), fine. The organization is discrete and its annual meetings are always secret, but supposedly have the presence of big names in the industry, politics and technology.

The World Forum this year may have had among its guests the figures of Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, the billionaire technology and visionary Elon Musk, and one of Google’s founders, Larry Page.

the trio have -ia gathered on a private island off the US coast during this weekend week along with senators of the Republican party, party members and other billionaires. Although these meetings are confidential and the presence of any of its participants is officially confirmed, this year’s event would have been witnessed by political commentator Bill Kristol, the Huffington Post.

Kristol confirms that Cook, Musk and Page they were present and claims that the main theme of the meeting of the AEI this year was the astonishing growth of Donald Trump as one of the favorites to be nominated to run for US president by the Republican Party. It is known that the leadership of the party itself does not see the Trump rise with good eyes and was planning a way to prevent his appointment.

However, also according to the paper, would also have been a clash verbal between Tim Cook and US Senator Tom Cotton about the crisis between Apple and the FBI. Sources claim that Cotton would have been quite “rough” with Cook on the issue of encryption of iPhones, which would have left the participants of the event “a little uncomfortable”.

According to the spokesman of the AEI, Judy Stecker, the event took place, but it is “private and without records, so we can not comment beyond that on its contents or participants.” Officially, the annual meetings are “an informal gathering of thinkers with leadership of all ideological spectrums to discuss the challenges that the US and the free world face in the fields of economy, security and social welfare.”
